Overview

Faced with the technological advancement of mankind during the Meiji Restoration, the youkai of Japan were forced to make a difficult decision:

1) Remain a youkai and look after the land.

2) Return to the underworld.

3) Renounce the power and status of youkai and live among humans. While there were those who chose otherwise, most youkai decided it was best to become human. It was hard, but over time, these youkai were able to merge with the human world and live peacefully among them. However, blood is thicker than water.The descendants of these youkai displayed the powerful abilities of their ancestors during times of great turmoil, often manifesting in horrific and dangerous ways, and were branded as monsters by society. Officially, their condition was called "Acquired Systemic Special Inheritance Syndrome", or "ASSHS" for short, and was regarded as a non-contagious disease, but the common people nevertheless began to call them Jinyu (half-youkai). Most of these Jinyo were sent to the city of Kamizawa: an isolated urban area walled off from the rest of Japan to keep all the Jinyo together and away from the human population. However, those who were considered especially dangerous were sent to a medical facility on an uncharted island off the coast of Japan, where they were under constant surveillance. Takabe Ryoichi was one of those sent to said island at the age of five. This is the story of how he, along with a girl named Suzu, his only friend on the island, escapes to the city of Kamizawa to live a normal life. What they didn't expect was that Suzu had a secret that attracted unwanted attention...​

Game Installation

1- You'll need to change locale to Japanese.

2- Run Aya.bat and when asked, type Y and press enter. This program is registry key adder. Thanks to Zakamutt! If you want to move the game folder after running the .bat file, you'll have to run it again or the game will not start. It's recommeded that you play this game using the MS Pゴッシク font. To do so, you need to change the font manually in the config screen after installing the game and running it for the first time. Other fonts are not supported, and may experience text bleeds or other factors that may diminish your enjoyment.
